At the Swedish Work Environment Authority, we work together to ensure that no one becomes ill, injured, or dies due to work. Therefore, we assist employers in meeting existing requirements and inform how work environment efforts become a natural part of everyday life. Based on the Work Environment Act, we develop regulations, inspect workplaces, and disseminate knowledge about work environment issues. The assignment is serious, but our daily life is characterized by job satisfaction, and we are caring and helpful colleagues.

Your new job

Our unit for statistics and analysis consists of 18 employees tasked with creating official statistics on work-related injuries and work environments. We are also responsible for producing various forms of analyses and decision-making support. We work broadly with environmental analysis and conduct in-depth studies on work environment issues.

As a statistician, you will process and analyze official statistics consisting of register and survey data. A large part of the job involves daily responses to internal and external statistical inquiries from journalists, labor market parties, researchers, and other stakeholders outside the authority. The role suits both individuals who have recently completed their studies and those with a few years of experience in the field. We prefer that you have experience handling large datasets and the ability to select the most relevant information and present it in a way that is tailored to the audience. You will also participate in other tasks that the unit is responsible for.

Your background

The role requires that you have:

  • A social science academic degree, with at least 30 credits in statistics according to the current degree system or 20 credits according to the previous degree system.
  • Experience from work and/or studies with statistical programs such as SAS EG or other programs that we consider equivalent.
  • Very good ability to communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
  • Good knowledge of the Office package, with particular emphasis on high proficiency in Excel.

It is advantageous if you also have:

  • Experience with similar tasks.
  • Experience analyzing large datasets.
  • Experience working with surveys.
  • Relevant experience working in the public sector.

As a person, we see that you will thrive and succeed in the role if you have a service-oriented approach in your daily work and can quickly adapt to new circumstances. You communicate clearly and can build and maintain relationships. Finally, you achieve your goals by being results- and solutions-oriented. In the selection process, we will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

An employment with us may mean that the position is placed in a security class. Security clearance with or without a background check may therefore be conducted before a decision on employment. For some of our tasks in the security class, Swedish citizenship is required. Security clearance is conducted according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585).

The employment is a permanent position, full-time, and is currently located at our office in Solna where the Swedish Work Environment Authority has an office. We apply individual salary setting and a six-month probationary period.

We strive for all employees to have a sustainable work environment and a balance between work and leisure. Therefore, we have flexible working hours or apply trust-based working hours and allow remote work where the business permits.

How we recruit

We use competency-based recruitment, both to ensure the quality of the recruitment and to counteract discrimination. We therefore ask you to only attach a CV and answer a few questions instead of a personal letter when you register your application. Interviews will take place from week 15.

We believe it is important for you to assess us as well. Therefore, we welcome questions both before and during the recruitment process. Union contacts are Adam Jansson for Saco, Marita Jonsson for ST, and Jenny Bengtsson for Seko. All can be reached via the Swedish Work Environment Authority's switchboard: 010-730 90 00.
